Family history

Son of Ernest and Fanny Beeston of Hodthorpe, Whitwell.
He was baptised at Hodthorpe on 31st December 1916.
Lawrence married Elizabeth Annie Nicholson of Hounslow in 1940. He left her £90 5s in his will her address then was 32 Mornington Crescent, London.

Military history

HMS Owl was a Royal Navy shore establishment based at Fearn Airfield on the Moray Firth, Scotland.
Part of 747 sqdn of the Fleet Air Arm flying a Barracuda l1. Broke off from formation and dived into the Moray Firth during a night aerial torpedo exercise.
Was made a Sub-Lieutenant (Acting ) on 29th October 1943.
Barracuda was a British carrier borne torpedo and dive bommber built by Fairey Aviation for the Fleet Air Arm.
