Son of Joseph Henry and Sarah Allwood of 48 Victoria Street, Mansfield.
Baptised at St marks Church, Mansfield on 20th June 1904. His sisters, Mary Victoria, Dorothy May, and Winifred Eva and his brothers Joseph Parker and Frederick Neville were all baptised on the same day.
In 1921 he was living with his mother's sister, Kate and her husband Herbert Long (Longbottem but they had dropped the last part of their name by 1921) at 29 St Ann's Hill, Wandsworth whilst he was a medical student.
Married Florence Nicholson in 1924 in Stoke on Trent. Their son Michael was born in 1925.
Edgar left Florence £3823 12s 4d in his will.
