8/9 May 1941 Wellington R1322 305 Sqn. Take off 22.56 RAF Syerston on the same mission as
above, shot down by Ofw Hans Rasper and R/O Gunner Erich Schreiber NJG1 crashed into the
Ijsselmeer killing all the crew. The wreck was first identified in 2014 by a dredging company
exploring the IJsselmeer for sand and gravel. Work started in 2016 to recover the aircraft and crew.

3 bodies recovered from the Ijsselmeer by fishermen and brought ashore at Schellingwoude. Sgt Pisarski unidentified and buried as unknown with military honours on the 20th May 1941. With 3 crew identified at the time and the remains of 2 crew recovered and identified in 2017. The recovery of an extra right leg bone (Documented unknown airman right leg missing on burial) by deduction the unknown airman is Sgt Pisarski.
