In 1939 he was living with his mother Elsie Playfoot at "Denver" Stanton Place, Layton Avenue, Mansfield. They were lodging with Wallace and Dorothy Rigley. When Elsie died in 1952 she left £832 to Dorothy.
There is no marriage for Elsie and Frederick was probably born out of wedlock.
