Son of John Harry and Marguerite Kirkpatrick. John had died prior to 1921 has on the 1921 census George is living with his widowed mother and younger sister Margaretat his maternal grandparents' home on Alfreton Road, Sutton in Ashfield.
He married Hilda Leader in 1938 and their son John was born in 1939.
In his will he leaves £498 7s 9d to Hilda who was living at Hazeldene Charnwood St, Sutton in Ashfield.

Military history

George was killed on active service an July 25th 1944 after a raid on Stuttgart.
IBCC: Lancaster Bomber III Serial Number JB701 Marking EA-G. Flew from Fiskerton. They crashed near St Martin-sur-Oreuse.
