Son of Frederick Watson Hoe and Grace Dora Hoe from Welbeck Colliery Village.
Eric left £253 19s 1d in his will to his father of 11 Church St, Edwinstowe.
Old Elizabethans Service Roll: L.A.C. Eric Watson Hoe was killed in a road accident in Southern France on February 2nd 1946. He joined the RAF in June 1941 and became a wireless operative on the ground staff due to his eye-sight having failed him for air-crew work. He served through the North African Campaign and later wrote a complete account of his experiences.
Further service was in Malta, Sicily, Italy, Eygpt, Palestine, Syria, Corsica and Southern France.
He is buried at Mazargues War Cemetery Marseilles, plot 4.C.78.
