He was the only son ofCharles and Ada Hannant of 49 Martyn Avenue, Sutton in Ashfield.
In his will Tony left £302 9s 3d to his father.

Military history

Old Elizabethan's Service Roll: Flt Officer Tony Allen Hannant was reported missing on Oct 21st 1944. He joined the RAF in June 1942 and received he his cadet flying trying on Canada. Later he was engaged as a Navigator in 248 sqdn in Coastal Command Mosquitoes. As a fighter he oerated in covering the D-Day landings and the advance of the Allied Armes through Western Europe. He also made many flights to attack shipping in Norwegian waters.
Based at Banff Scotland.
