He was the son of Thomas Matthew and Edna Mabel Shaw. In 1939, they lived at 6, Charlbury Road and later 3, Greendale Gardens, Aspley, (both Nottingham).

Thomas Shaw served in the RAF and another son was in the Royal Navy.

Military history

BARI WAR CEMETERY

He enlisted in 1942 and was commissioned in 1944.

Shaw was killed aboard Liberator VI KL355 which collided in the circuit with
Liberator KK302 at Celone, Italy.
