Family history

George and Alice Pritchett, of Broxtowe, Nottinghamshire had eight sons serving in HM Forces. Besides Sydney, they were Arthur, Harry, Sam, Leslie, Dennis, Cyril and Frank. It seems that all 7 of Sydney's brothers survived the war.

HMLCA913 and HMLCA 914 (landing craft) were lost during the ā€˜Dā€™ Day Normandy Landings.
Two men were lost aboard 913 including Able Seaman Sydney Pritchett. Three perished on 914 including Wilfred Grosse from Balderton, Nottinghamshire. (CGWFC Debt of Honour Register)
