Charles served in the Durham Light Infantry in WW1 and in 1921 he was serving in Mesopotamia with the Royal Field Artiliery so appears to have been a career soldier

Son of Henry and Sarah Ince of 10 Barton Court, Mansfield.
In 1901 they were living with Henry's widowed father, Charles at 21 Barton Court, Mansfield.
Siblings: Edith (1896), Daisy (born 1901 died 1905), Doris Mary (1903), Henry (1905),
Mabel (1908), Elsie (1911), Albert (1914), Hilda (1917) and Edna (1920).
Henry died in 1928.
Charles married Nellie Gibson at St Peter's Church, Mansfield on 3rd April 1926 they were both living at 5 Prospect Street, Mansfield and Charles was working as a miner. In his will he left £550 to Nellie who was living at 37 Woodland Drive, Mansfield.
Charles served in the Durham Light Infantry during WW1 and was still in the Army, Royal Field Artiliery, in 1921 when he was at Stergal, Mesopotamia (modern day Iraq/Iran). He left sometime between 1921 and 1926 as at the time of his marriage he was working has a miner.
In WW2 he was in the Royal Army Service Corp, Line of Communication Motor Transport Company and serving in Northern France and was lost during the retreat to Dunkirk.
