He was the son of Wallace and Eliza Chapman and the brother of Ellen Chapman. In 1921, they lived at 31, Maltmill Lane, Canal Steet but by 1939 had moved to 32, Derwent Street, Meadows (both Nottingham).
Military history
The Battle of Esquelmes: Guardsman Chapman was killed during the intense defensive actions along the River Escaut (Scheldt).
