Family history

Henry Nuttall was born in 1894 at Gateford, Wroksop, he was baptised on 18th March 1894 at St John's Church Worksopm, he was the son of George a farm baliff and Sarah Nuttall née Wright and the brother of Ellen, Charles, John, William and George Nuttall.

His father George Nuttall was born in 1855 at Burton, Lincolnshire, his mother Sarah Wright was born in 1850 at Harmston, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1882 at Harmston, they had 6 children

In 1901 and 1911, they lived at Gateford, Worksop in the 1911 census the family are shown as George Nuttall 56 yrs a farm baliff, he is living with his wife Sarah 60 yrs and their children, John 22 yrs a waggoner on a farm, William 20 yrs a farm servant, George 18 yrs a waggoner on a farm and Harry 17 yrs a farm Lbourer.

George snr and Sarah later lived at 3, Nertherholme Cottages, Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

Military history

Private Henry Nuthall enlisted at Worksop, he served with 'B' Company 7tht battalion Leicestershire Regiment, he was killed in action on 21st March 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, Panel 29 & 30
