Albert Edward Taylor was born in 1889 at Radford, Nottingham, he was the son of William and Harriet Taylor of Nottingham.

He married Dorothy Holmes (born 31st July 1894) at Grimsby in 1917 a few weeks before his death. they lived at 11 Stanley Street, Grimsby they had a daughter Marjorie born 9th November 1917,

Commencing 25th February 1918 his widow was awarded a pension of 20 shillings a week.

Dorothy married Isaac Wivell at Grimsby in 1919 and they lived at 13, Buller Street, Grimsby.

Military history

Corporal Albert Ernest Taylor enlisted at Derby whilst residing at Grimsby, and served with 'C' Coy.2nd battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 31st July 1917, he is buried at Tyne Cot Cemetery, Grave Reference: L B 9
