Frederick George Clifford Taylor was born on 26th September 1896, he was baptised on 30th November 1896 at St Ann's parish churcg, Nottingham, he was the son of Frederick George and Eleanor Mackness and the brother of Dorothy, Edna Vivian and Leonard Cecil Taylor of 189 Ilkeston Road, Nottingham.
His father Frederick George Clifford was born in 1873 at Nottingham, his mother Eleanor Mackness was born in 1873 at Wigston, Leicester they were married in 1896 at Nottingham, they had 4 children
In 1911 they lived at 266 Woodborough Road Nottingham, Frederick George Taylor 38 yrs is a clerk in a tobacco factory, he is living with his wife Eleanor 37 yrs a housewife and their children, Frederick George Clifford 14 yrs an office boy in insurance, Dorothy 12 yrs a scholar, Edna Vivian 9 yrs a scholar and Leonard Cecil 7 yrs a scholar.
Lance Corporal Frederick George Clifford Taylor enlisted at Nottingham, he initially served with Royal Army Ordnance Corps, No. 05230 later transferring to the 1/5th battalion South Staffordshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 3rd October 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial ( Panel 6 & 7)
