Arthur Taylder Marriott was born in 1896 at Hucknall he was the son of Charles a compositor and Kate Marriott néé Taylder and the brother of Ernest Marriott of 150 Lenton Boulevard, Nottingham.

His father Charles was born in 1861 at Hemel Hempstead, his mother Kate Taylder was born in 1857 at Penryn, Cornwall, they were married in 1886 at Nottingham, they went on to have 4 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or ealychildhood,.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 158, Radford Boulevard, Nottingham Charles 50 yrs is a compositor, he is living with his wife Kate 54 yrs and their sons Ernest 20 yrs an assistant lace worker and Arthur 15 yrs no occupation listed, also living at the address is a visitor Lauran Taylder 52 yrs born at Penryn, Cornwall she is a drapers assistant,

Military history

Acting Corporal Arthyr Taylder Marriott enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the Army Ordnance Corps, he died on 16th May 1917 having no know grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial.
