Thomas Maxfield was born in 1887 at Lenton, he was the son of the late Thomas Maxfield and Rosina Maxfield née Rudman.
His father Thomas Maxfield died prior to 1899 , his mother Rosina Rudson was born in 1865 at Birmingham, they were married in 1882 at Nottingham, they had a further child Frances born 1883,
Following his fathers death his mother re married in 1899 at Nottingham, to Edward Adderley of 46 Radford Boulevard Nottingham
In the 1911 census the family lived at 37 Marcus Street Lenton Boulevard, Nottingham, Edward Adderley 41 yrs is a railway waggon builder, he is living with his wfe Roosina 44 yrs and their stepson Thomas Maxfield 24 yrs a tailors presser and their son Edward Adderley 7 yrs .
Private Thomas Maxfield, enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 1/7th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles), was killed in action on 16th March 1917. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
