John Henry Hinde (junior) was born in 1900 at Radford, Nottingham, he was the son of John Henry Hinde (senior) a cycle filer up and Harriet Ann Hinde née Shelton and the brother of Richard and Laura Florence Hinde.
His father John Henry Hinde was born in 1866 at Radford, his mother Harriett Ann Shelton was born in 1867 at Sneinton, they were married in 1894 at Nottingham, the had 3 children.
In the 1911 census the family are living at 4 Redoubt Street Radford Nottingham John Henry 44 yrs a cyle filer up, he is living with his wife Harriett Ann 43 yrs and their children,Richard Hinde 13 yrs a scholar, John Henry Hinde 11 yrs a scholar and Laura Florence Hinde 1 yr old.
Private John Henry Hinde enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion Esse Regiment, he died of wounds on 28th May 1918, he is buried at Etaples Military Cemetery
