Family history

Frank Parker Cupitt was born in 1893 at Sutton in Ashfield, he was the son of Walter a butcher and Mary Cupitt née Parker and the brother of William Parker Stendall and Walter Cupitt.

His father Walter was born in 1857 at Holbrook, Derbyshire, his mother Mary Parker was born in 1852 at Sutton in Ashfield, they were married on 22nd August 1878 at St Marys Church, Sutton in Ashfield they went on to have 7 children.

In the 1911 census the family lived at 22 Rothesay Avenue Nottingham, Walter 54 yrs is a butcher, he is living with his wife Mary 59 yrs and their children, William Parker Stendall 27 yrsa lace warehouse man, Walter 21 yrs a lace warehouse man and Frank Parker 18 yrs a print worker.

Military history

Lance Corporal Frank Cupitt enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2/7th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action, 21st March 1918, aged 25, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
