Albert Harrison was born on 17th April 1884 at Nottingham, he was the son of Thomas Harrison a coal miner and Clara Harrison née Illston of Broomhill Road Bulwell.
His father Thomas was born in 1863 at Nottingham, his mother Clara Illston was born in 1865 at Leicester, they were married on 13th April 1884 at St Leodegarius Church, Basford, Nottingham, they had a furtther child Florence Harrison born 1885 at Nottingham,
In the 1911 census his mother Clara 50 yrs is living at 97 Broomhill Road, Buwell she is living with her married daughter Florence Westwood 26 yrs and her husband John Westwood 26 yrs
Prior to the outbreak f the 'Great War' Albert Harrison emigrated to Canada.
Sapper Albert Harrison enlisted on 24th Dember 1915 at Winnipeg in Canada, giving his date of birth as 17th April 1884, he was a coal miner living at 203 Edmonton Street, Winnipeg, Manatoba, Canada, his next of kin was his mother Clara Harrison of Broomhill Road, Bulwell, Nottingham. He served with the 2nd Tunnelling Coy. and was killed in action on 28th April 1916, he is buried in Dickebusch New Military Cemetery (grave ref. J.19).
Nottingham Evening Post notice (abridged), 8 May 1916: 'Harrison. Killed in action April 29th, Private A Harrison, Canadian Engineers, only son of Mrs C Harrison, Broomhill Road, Bulwell. Mother, sisters.'
