Frank Adams was born in 1896 at Bulwell he was the son of Edward a coal miner and later an Inn Keeper and Annie Adams née Leatherland and the brother of Joseph Adams of 83 Loughborough Road West Bridgford Nottingham.
His father Edward was born in 1866 at Pinxton, Derbyshire, his mother Annie Leatherland was born in 1867 at Bulwell, they were married on 6th February 1890 at St Johns Churh, Bulwell , they had 3 children, sadly 1 was t die in infancy or earley childhood, their ohter surviving child was Joseph born 1893 at Pinxton.
In the 1911 census the family lived at The Falcon Inn Laughton Road Dinnington Rotherham. Edward 45 yrs is an inn keeper he is living with his wife Annie 44 yrs and their 2 sons Joseph 18 yrs a clerk and Frank 15 yrs a mechanic, also living with them is a neice Georgina 14 yrs and also 5 servants working in the Inn.
Private Frank Adams enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Burton Joyce, he served with the 6th Division Mechanical Transport Company, Army Service Corps, he died on 14th April 1918, he is buried at Mendingham Military Cemetery, France
