Family history

Maurice Henry Wilkinson was born in 1899 at Skegness he was the son of the late Frank a coach builder and Isabella Wilkinson née Wells of 15 Selby Street, Hull.

His father Frank was born in 1871 at Mumby, Lincolnshire, he died in 1913, he was 42 yrs old, his mother Isabella Wells was born in 1874 in Boston they were married in 1897 at Spilsby, Lincolnshire, they had 3 children sadly 1 was to die in infancy or early childhood, their other surviving child was Dorothy born 1915 at Mumby.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 25 Roman Bank, Skegness, Frank 40 yrs is a coach builder, he is living with his wife Isabella 35 yrs and their children, Maurice H 12 yrs a scholar and Dorothy 6 yrs of age.

Military history

Private Maurice Henry Wilkinson enlisted at Coventry whilst residing at Worksop, he served with the 8th Bn Border Regiment, he died on 26th June 1918 and is buried at Aulnoye Communal Cemetery, France.
