Ralph Pattison was born in 1884 at Bourne, Lincolnshire, he was the son of Richard Newton Pattison a master tailor and Fanny Pattison née Kettke, of Bede House, Banks, Bourne, Lincs..
His father Richard Newton Pattison was born in 1845 at Bourne, his mother Fanny Kettle was born in 1857 at Bourne, they were married in 1878 at Bourne, they went on to have 14 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood.
In the 1911 census his parents are living at Willoughby Road, Bourne, Richard Newton 66 rs is a master tailor, he is living with is wife Fanny 53 yrs and their children, John 31 yrs a farm labourer, May 19 yrs a pea factory sorter, Harry 17 yrs a farm labourer, Elizabeth May 15 yrs, Charles 13 yrs and Emma 10 yrs old.
Ralph was the husband of Florenc Rimmington (born 1st August 1884 at Grantham, ) of Field Farm, Ragnall, Newark, Notts they were married in 1904 at Bourne, they went on to have children, Florence Daisy born 6th October 1904, and Gladys May born 1905 at Bourne, she died in 1906 at Bourne.
In the 1911 census Ralph 28 yrs is a horse slaughterer, he is living with his wife Florence 28 yrs and their daughter Daisy 6 years they are living at Willoughby Road, Bounre.
Commencing 5th February 1917 his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week which was increased on 4th April 1917 to 18 shillings and 9 pence a week at this time she was living at Spalding Road, Bourne, Lincolnshire.
His widow re married Fred Reynolds a farm labourer on 16th July 1917.
Lance Corporal Ralph Pattison was residing at Ragnall, Nottinghamshire when he enlisted at Bourne, he served with the 1st battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 3rd July 1916, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
