Family history

Charles William Henyr Flatters was born in 1887 at Branston, Lincolnshire,

He was the husband of Mary Jane Usher (born 20th October 1864 ) they were married in 1909 at Gainsborough, Mary Jane brought two children to the marriage, William Usher born 1901 Fenton and Anne Elizabeth Usher born 1905 at Fenton, they lived at  Fenton Newark.

In the 1911 census the family are living at Fenton Newton on Trent, Charles William Henry Flatters 24 yrs is farm labourer, he is living with his wife Mary Jane Fisher 44 yrs , and her children, William Rushby Usher 10 yrs and Annie Elizabeth Rushby Usher 6 yrs of age. 

Commencing 10th March 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 21 shillings and 8 pence a week. 
Military history

Private Charles William Henry Flatters enlisted at Lincoln whilst residing at Newton on Trent, Nottinghamshire, he served with the 8th battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 11th August 1918, he is buried at Saint Amand British Cemetery, France.
