Commencing 27th October 1915 his widow was awarded a pension of 10 shillings a week which was increased to 13 shillings and 9 pence a week on 4th April 1917.

His widow re married on1st December 1917 to Michael Kelly.

Military history

Private William Crooks enlisted at Grantham, he served with the 1st battalion, Lincolnshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 16th June 1915 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres Menin Gate Memorial, Belgium
