Henry George Blackwell was born in 1882 at Stepney London,

He was the husband of Mary Ann Blackett (born 30th November 1876) they were married in 1910 their marriage was recorded in the Grantham registration district, they lived at 'Hazelgrove' Mill Lane Edwinstowe Nottinghamshire.

They had a daughter Beatrice Mar born 13th August 1914.

His widow was awarded a pension of 17 shillings and 6 pence a week which commenced on 26th June 1916, at this date his widow was living at Station Row, Edwinstow, near Newark.

Military history

Sapper Henry George Blackettt enlisted at Grantham, he served with the 71st Field Company, Royal Engineers, he died of wounds on 18th December 1915, havingno known grave his name is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli.
