Frederick William Atkinson was born in 1898 at Scotter, Lincolnshire, he was the son of George Francis a grazier and Eliza Jane Atkinson née Bamford of Thorpe in the Glebe Wysall Nottinghamshire.
His father George Francis was born in 1869 at Scotter, Lincolnshire, his mother Eliza Jane Bramford was born in 1871 also at Scotter they were married in 1895 their marriage was recorded in the Melton Mowbray registration district, they had 3 children.
In the 1911 census the family are living at Grimston village near Melton Mowbray, George Francis 41 yrs is a grazier, he is living with hios wfe Eliza Jane 39 yrs and their 3 sons, Frederick William 13 yrs, Edward Bramford 10 yrs and Ernest Francis 8 years old.
Private William Atkinson enlisted and served at the Depot with the Leicestershire Regiment, he died on 2nd May 1917 at the Rugeley Camp, Cannock Chase, Litchfield, he was buried at Grimston(St John) Churchyard, Grimston, Melton Mowbray.
