Family history

Cyril Beastall was born in 1891 at Nottingham, he was the son of Albert a warehouse man in a lace works, and Eliza Beastall née Henton of 39 Sedgley Avenue Sneinton Dale Nottingham.

His father Albert was born in 1860 at Fritchley, Derbyshire, his mother Eliza Henton was born in 1868 at Leicester, they were maried on 3rd November 1889 at St Albans Church, Sneinton, Nottingham, they went on to have 6 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood.

In the 1911 census the family are living at 39 Sedgley Avenue, Sneinton, Nottingham Albert 51 yrs is a lace warehouseman, he is living with hos wofe Eliza 42 yrs and their children Vernon Henton 21 yrs a lace warehose man they are living with their children, Vernon Henton21 yrs a lace warehouseman, Dorothy Mary 11 yrs and Albert Henry 4 yrs of age.

In the same 1911 census Cyril has moved out of the family home, he is shown as a lodger at Main Road, Jacksdale he is shown as 20 yrs and a postman he is living with Herbert Tyler 24 yrs a platelayer.

Military history

Private Cyril Beastall, enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2/7th Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment (Robin Hood Rifles), he was killed in action on 21st March 1918. He is buried at Queant Road Cemetery, Buissy.
