John was born in 1890 in Wrexham he was the son of Henry a shoemaker and clogger and Fanny Elliott, of Wrexham; he was the husband of Amy Elliott, of Walkeringham, Doncaster.
Military history
John enlisted in Manchester and served with the 1st battalion Welsh Guards and was killed in action on 15th July 1917 at the age of 27 years. He is buried in Canada Farm cemetery, Belgium
