William Kiddier
In 1911 William Kiddier was a shop porter for Boots the Chemist. He was employed by the Midland Railway as a tem. goods porter.

William Kiddier was born in 1893 at Nottingham, he was the son of John a corporation labourer nd Mary Kiddier née Wilson and the brother of Josiah, Mary, Albert and Lizzie Kiddier 50 Kingston Street, Nottingham,
His father John Kiddier was born in 1861 in Nottingham and worked as a corporation labourer. his mother: Mary Wilson was born in 1863 in Nottingham they were married in 1890 at Nottingham, his brothers were Josiah, born in 1892 and working as a bobbin and carriage hand and Albert, born in 1901. his sisters: Mary, born in 1899 and Lizzie, born in 1904.
All the children were born in Nottingham.
In 1911 the family lived at 6 No Man's Yard, Newington Street, Nottingham but they later moved to 30 Kingston Street, Nottingham (Evening Post September 10, 1915), before John and Mary finally moved to 50 Kingston Street (CWGC).
Private William Kiddier volunteered for service at Nottingham, he served with the 1st battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment following training he arrived in France on 4 January 1915. He was killed in action during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle, but his body was never recovered. His name was commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial (Panel 26 & 27). He was awarded the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
