
Ralph Manvers Fox
An entry in the West Riding Constabulary appointment book shows that on 23rd August 1911 Ralph was appointed into the West Riding Constabulary,he gives his full name as Ralph Manvers Fox ,his age as 28 years and states he was born in Walkeringham. He is described as being 5'11 1/4 inches with a fresh complextion, blue eyes and dark auburn hair, his occupation is given as a builder and he is single. However obviously it did not suit him as a week later on 1st September 1911 he resigned from the force.

Ralph was born in 1883 in Walkeringham the son of William a house builder and bricklayer and his wife Mary. The family live at Church End Walkeringham and Ralph eventually worked for his father as an apprentice bricklayer.
He is buried at Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, Belgium
