Keyworth - St Mary Magdalene Church

This memorial, stained glass windows depicting St John, St Luke, St Mark and St Matthew, was given by the vicar as a thanksgiving for the peace. It does not commemorate any individual. However, the name of William George Lacey has been linked with this memorial. There is a headstone in the churchyard to Lacey but he is not on the Keyworth war memorial. The inscription 'A thank offering for Victory and Peace, by Rev H P Ling, 1919' is repeated in each pair of widows. Research and photos by Rachel Farrand
