Darlton - St Giles Church

Description from WMA record: White marble tablet flanked by two columns supporting a triangular-headed pediment. Inscription in black lettering. Whole is mounted onto a grey marble backboard. Inscription: To the Glory of God and in memory of the men of this parish who sacrificed their lives in the Great War 1914-1918 (names) "Make them be numbered with thy saints in glory everlasting". The memorial was made by Correr Bros. Sheffield, and was unveiled in August 1922 by Rev. HHE Dangerfield. Southwell and Nottingham Diocese: the church has been officially closed and the diocese is seeking an alternative use for the building (2015)
