Southwell - Minster School (Old Southwellians WW1 & WW2)

See also 'Old Southwellians' memorial, WMA 38865. The original 'Old Southwellians' memorial is in the former school premises in Minster Chambers, Church Street, Southwell (now the Minster visitor centre). The memorial was left in situ when the school moved to larger, purpose built, premises on Church Street in 1964. A replacement memorial, which also commemorated former pupils who died in the Second World War, was installed in the new school. This replacement memorial was transferred to the school's new premises on Nottingham Road, Southwell, which opened in 2007. The dedication reads: 'In memory of the Old Southwellians who gave their lives in two World Wars 1914-18 (names) 1939-45 (names). We hold them in continual remembrance.'
