Laxton - St Michael the Archangel
St Michael the Archangel, Laxton, Nottinghamshire, NG22 0NX. A freestanding memorial in Laxtone (St Michael the Archangel) churchyard. Description: 'A plain cross on top of a square plinth and two-stepped base. the top of the plinth is draped with swags. Artillery piece enclosed by foliate design in relief on front face.' Dedication: 'To the Glory of God and in grateful remembrance of those from the parish who fell in the Great War 1914-1919. Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.' The names of those who died are also on a roll of honour in the church (WMA27222).
