Bernard Moore was born in 1899 at Nottingham, he was the son of David a milk dairyman and Elizabeth Moore, nee Hardy of 32 Bernard Street, Carrington, Nottingham. David was born in 1854 at Nottingham, Elizabeth Treagold Hardy was born in 1860 also at Nottingham, they were married in 1896 their marriage was recorded in the Caistor registration district, they had two other children, Francis b1897 and Ethel Winifred born 1901. Bernard married Lillian Gertrude Rudd in 1917 at Nottingham, they lived at 32 Bernard Street, Carrington.

Military History

Private Bernard Moore enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion West Yorkshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 24th April 1918 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial, France.
