Robert Dolman was born in Farndon in 1883 and was the son of William and Elizabeth Dolman. In the 1911 census he is shown as being 27 yrs born at Farndon, he is a railway platelayer, he is boarding with Thomas Wilson 37 yrs a railway platelayer and his family at Pyehill Lane, Jacksdale, Nottingham. His pension card shows his dependant as Florence Lunn of Easthorpe, Bottesford, mother of his illegitimate child.

Military History

Gunner Robert Dolman, enlisted at Nottingham and served with “B” Battery, 73rd Brigade Royal Field Artillery. He landed in France on 8th July 1915 and, was killed in action on 26th September 1915. He is commemorated on the Loos Memorial, Pas de Calais, France.
