Nottingham Evening Post Roll of Honour (abridged) 18/5/1918: 'Wright. Reported wounded and missing April 23rd 1917, now presumed killed on that date, Pte. William Cressey Wight, aged 35, South Staffords, of 20 Haywood Street Sneinton. For 20 years in the employ of Howitt & Sons, Askforth Street. - From sorrowing wife and children.' 'Wright. Killed in action April 23rd 1917, Pte William Wright South Staffords. A noble sacrifice - deeply regeretted by father, mother, sister in law, Harry (France).' 'Wright.
