James Edward Dingley

James Edward Dingley was born in 1887 in Blackheath Staffordshire and was the son of Edward a blast furnaceman and Ann Maria Dingley née Adams of 48 Waterford Street, Nottingham. His father Edward was born in 1852 in Worcestershire and his mother was born in 1853 in Elmbridge, Worcestershire they were married in 1874 in Stourbridge and went on to have 10 children sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood. Their children were Emily b1875 Telford, Samuel b1877 Worcestershire, William b1880 Worcestershire, Mary b1883 Worcestershire, Frank b1884 Nottm, James b1886 Nottm, David b1888 Nottm, Edith b1891 Nottm and Obadiah b1894 Nottingham. In the 1911 census his parents are living at 48 Waterford Street, Nottingham and are shown as Edward 58 yrs a blast furnaceman, he is living with his wife Ann Maria 58 yrs and their daughter Edith 19 yrs a lace curtain maker. Also living with them is a granddaughter Ethel May 5 months. James married his wife Patience Emily Bancroft (born 5th May 1883 Mapperley, Derbyshire) in 1907 in Nottingham, they lived at 4 Walters Row, High Street, Old Basford, Nottingham, they went on to have three children, Edith Evelyn born 10th March 1908, Ethel May born 18th May 1910 and James Edward born 15th September 1912 all were born in Bulwell. In the 1911 census the family are living at 4 Walters Row, High Street, Old Basford and are shown as James Edward Dingley 24 yrs a coal miner, he is living with his wife Patience Emily 27 yrs and their children Edith 3 yrs and Ethel May 10 months. Following his death his widow Patience was awarded a pension of 29 shillings and 7 pence which commenced on 17th February 1919 , she was living at 104 Knights Row, High Street, Old Basford.
