George Henry Fletcher

George Henry Fletcher was born in 1887 at Nottingham and was the son of Oliver a coal miner hewer and Harriett Fletcher née Jepson of 53 Kirkstead Street, Hyson Green Nottingham. His father Oliver was born in 1852 at Smalley, Derbyshire, his mother Harriett Jepson was born in 1868 at Sutton in Ashfield, they were married in 1886 in Nottingham, they went on to have 9 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were , George b1887, Charlotte b1891 Hucknall, Emma b1892 Hucknall, Lily b1894 Hucknall, Harriett b1899 Hucknall, May b1905 Hyson Green and Beatrice b1908 Hyson Green. George Henry Fletcher married his wife Beatrice May Bramer (born 4th March 1886 Worksop ) in 1908 at Nottingham. In the 1911 census George and his wife Beatrice are living at 132 Exeter Road Wiverton Road Sherwood Rise Nottingham together with his in laws and they are shown as George Henry 24 yrs a hosiery sock trimmer, he is living with his wife Beatrice May 25 yrs and her parents Walter Bramer 51 yrs a firewood dealer and Annie Bramer 52 yrs. In the same 1911 census his parents and siblings are living at 53 Kirkstead Street, Hyson Green and are shown as Oliver Fletcher 58 yrs a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Harriett 46 yrs and their children, Charlotte 21 yrs a lace dresser, Emma 19 yrs a lace dresser, Lily 17 yrs a hosiery worker, Harriett 12 yrs a scholar, May 6 yrs and Beatrice 3 yrs of age. At the time of his death his widow was living at 45 Sandon Street, New Basford she was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 7th January 1918 and was increased to 27 shillings and 11 pence a week on 20th March 1919.
