He was the son of William and Elizabeth Swinn and the brother of Emma, Jesse and Joseph Swinn. In 1901 they lived at 25 Alderney Street Grove Road Lenton Nottingham.He was the husband of Ada Emily (née Terry) Swinn and the father of Herbert and Alice M Swinn.
