Harold Thomas Spray was born in 1891 the son of John Thomas a lace hand and Kate Spray née Wildsmith.
His father John Thomas, known as Thomas, was born in 1869 in Sneinton and his mother Kate Wildsmith was born in 1870 in Nottingham. They were married in 1890 in Nottingham and had three children two of whom died.
In 1911 they lived at 10 Parkinson Street Nottingham.
Harold in 1911 was serving with 4th Battalion Royal Fusiliers at Corunna Barracks Aldershot.
At the time of Harold’s death his address was 29 Abbey Street Old Basford, Nottingham
His father John Thomas died in Nottingham in 1924 aged 55. His mother later lived at 7 Ball Memorial Homes Church Street Lenton Nottingham.
Private Harold Spray enlisted in Hounslow he served with the 3rd battalion Royal Fuiliers, landing in France on 9th January 1915 and was killed in action on 26rd April 1915. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial Panel 6 and 8
