Family History

William Robert Brice was born in 1885 the the son of the late William (died 1892) a plumber and Mary Brice and the brother of John Edward and Leonard Rushland Brice. William was born in 1835 at Radcliffe he died in 1898 aged 62 yrs, Mary was born in 1849 at Hints, Staffordshire, they were married in 1885 at Nottingham and had 3 children In 1911 they lived on Back Lane Radcliffe on Trent Nottinghamshire, his widowed mother Mary is 62 yrs, he is 25 yrs and is a gardener, William Robert married Ann Hopkinson (born 10th July 1884 ) on 14th May 1913 at St Marys Church, Notingham, they lived at Rushland House, Radcliffe on Trent. Commencing 12th June 1919 his widow was awarded a pension of 13 shillings and 9 pence a week, her address at this time was 61 Queen Street Chasetown Walsall.

Military History

Private William Robert Brice enlisted on 8th June 1916 at Nottingham, he served with the Royal Air Force. He was ill with influenza for eleven days before his death and had pneumonia for five days. He died in Lincoln County Hospital on 7th December 1918 and is buried in Radcliffe Cemetery Grave Reference: B L 132
