He was the son of Frederick and Martha Sarah Haskins and the brother of Reginald Frank, Harry George, Ernest John (killed in action 15/7/1916), Harold Edwin, Arthur Gladstone and Elsie Haskins. In 1901 the family lived at 16 Queen Street and in 1911 at 2 Morden Cottages West Butt (both Poole Dorset).
