Family History
He was the son of James and Nellie Andrews. In 1911 they lived at 17 Old Church Street Lenton Nottingham.
Military History
The 9th Battalion had been in the Loos area since late October 1917. Although a comparatively quiet area 18 men were killed including James and are buried in Loos British cemetery. The battalion should have been relieved on 20th November 1917 but a late order countermanded this which cost 8 more lives. John Morse
