Francis Henry Stout

Francis Henry Stout was born in 1895 at Skegby and was the son of Thomas a coal miner hewer and Emma Sophia Daws of 1 Cardwell Terrace, Nottingham. His father Thomas was born in 1869 at Bulwell, his mother Emma Sophia Daws was born in 1870 at Basford, they were married in 1889 at Nottingham, they went on to have 12 children sadly 8 died in infancy or early childhood their surviving children were, Francis Henry b1895 Skegby, Esther b1898 Basford, Emma b1908 at Basford and Lillian May b1911 Hyson Green. In the 1911 census the family are living at 15 Cardwell Terrace, Nottingham and are shown as Thomas Stout 42 yrs a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Emma 41 yrs and their children, Francis Henry 16 yrs a colliery ganger, Esther 13 yrs a scholar, Emma 3 yrs and Lillian May 2 months old. Francis Henry Stout married his wife Mary Ann Haywood (born 17th December 1894) in 1914 at Nottingham, they lived at 20 Ashwell Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham, they went on to have the following children, Lilian May born 1st June 1914, Francis Henry born 15th July 1915, Esther born 15th August 1916 and Thomas William born 12th June 1918. Following his death his widow Mary was awarded a pension of 33 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 19th May 1919.
