Family History

Harold Pearce was born in 1898 at Hyson Green and was the son of Albert a coal dealer and Ada Clara Pearce née Leatherland of 56 Lambert Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham. His father Albert was born in 1861 in the Meadows, Nottingham, his mother Ada Clara Leatherland was born in 1864 at Nottingham, they were married in 1891 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham registration district, they had a further son Albert William born 1894 at Hyson Green. In 1911 census the family lived at 56 Lambert Street Hyson Green Nottingham and were shown as Albert 50 yrs a coal dealer, he is living with his wife Ada Clara 47 yrs and their children, Albert William 17 yrs a sawyer in a saw mill and Harold 13 yrs a printer.

Military History

Private Harold Pearce enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 17th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 3rd September 1916 and is buried at Knightsbridge Cemetery, Mesnil-Martinsart, Somme, France.
