William Cartwright Forryan

William Cartwright Forryan was born in 1878 in Wigstan, Leicester and was the son of John George a factory manager (John Player factory) and Elizabeth Forryan née Cartwright they lived at 33 Noel Street, Hyson Green, Nottingham. His father was born in 1850 in Wigston, Leicester and his mother Elizabeth Cartwright was born in 1854 in Broughton Astley, Leicester, they were married in 1875 in Lutterwoth, Leicester, they went on to have 9 children , sadly one of which died in infancy, their surviving children were all born in Wigston and were Mabel b1877, William b1878, Letitia b1881, Annie b1882, Donald b1887, Cyril Godwin b1890, John Owen b1891 William married his wife Gladys Jones of Bradford at St Judes Church, Bradford on 21st December 1910, they went on to have three daughters , Elizabeth b 19th August 1912, Verona b 2nd November 1913 and Hilda Barbara b 2nd January 1915. they lived at 74 Southfield Square Bradford. In the 1911 census William is living with his wife at 14 Grosvenor Terrace, Bradford he is shown as being 32 yrs and a teacher , he is living with his wife Gladys 22 yrs , also living with them at this time is his brother Cyril Goodwin Forryan 21 yrs a salesman and their niece Vera Jessup 5 yrs In the same 1911 census his parents are living at 33 Noel Street, Hyson Green and are shown as John George Forryan 61 yrs a factory manager , he is living with his wife Elizabeth 57 yrs and their son John Owen 20 yrs a shop assistant. Following his death his widow received a letter dated 6th April 1918 from the ministry of pensions informing her that she would be receiving a pension of 26 shillings and three pence a week in respect of herself and her three children commencing 22nd April 1918. By 20th April 1920 she and her three children were living at Chawin, Alberta Canada.
