Arthur Fletcher was born in 1891 at Beeston and was the son of Ada Fletcher born 1872 at Beeston. His mother was living at 31 Stoney Street, Beeston with her widowed mother 76 yrs old Sarah Ann Fletcher, Ada is 39 yrs of age and is single. Arthur married his wife Ethel Maud (born 23rd November 1888) in 1915 at Nottingham and they had a son Arthur Edward Fletcher born 23rd August 1912 who was born before wedlock they lived at 6 Randall Street Hyson Green, Nottingham. Following his death his widow Ethel Maud was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 12th November 1917.

Military History

Private Arthur Fletcher enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 10th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He died of wounds on 24th April 1917 and is buried at at Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun, Pas de Calais,France. Courtesy
