William Aulton

William Aulton (junior) was born in 1893 at Radford and was the son of the late William Aulton (senior) a lace maker and Alice Aulton née Fretwell of 297 Denman Street, Radford, Nottingham. His father William (senior) was born in 1865 at Nottingham he died in 1908 aged 43 yrs, his mother Alice Fretwell was born in 1866 at Langley Mill, they were married in 1884 their marriage was recorded in the Nottingham Registration district, they went on to have the following children, Ethel b1889, Mabel b1891, William b1893, Bernard b1899 and Doris b1905 all were born in Nottingham. In the 1911 census William (junior) he has left his home address and joined the Army, he is living in at Victoria barracks, Portsmoth with the 2nd battalion Lincolnshire Regiment, he is shown as being 18 yrs and single. In the same 1911 census his family are living at 297 Denman Street, Radford, they are shown as Alice 45 yrs a widow, she is living with her children, Ethel 21 yrs a blouse maker, Mable 19 yrs a box maker, Bernard 12 yrs a scholar and Doris 6 yrs of age.
