Harold Richardson was born in 1899 in Bracebridge, Lincolnshire and was the son of William a boiler makers labourer and Emma Richardson née Warsop of Bracebridge village. His father William was born in 1856 at Wickenby, Lincolnshire and his mother Emma Coatsworth Warsop was born in 1862 at Nettleham, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1887 their marriage was recorded in the Lincoln Registration District, they went on to have 9 children, sadly one died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were Edith b1890 Lincoln, Lottie b1892 Lincoln, Ethel b1894 Lincoln, William b1896 Bracebridge, Beatrice b1897 Bracebridge, Harold b1900 Bracebridge, Ada b1902 Bracebridge and Lillian b1908 Bracebridge. In the 1911 census the family are living in the village of Bracebridge and are shown as William 55 yrs a boiler makers labourer, he is living with his wife Emma 49 yrs and their children, Ethel 17 yrs a domestic servant, William 15 yrs a painters apprentice, Harold 11 yrs a scholar, Ada 9 yrs and Lillian 3 yrs.
Private Harold Richardson enlisted at Lincoln, he initially served with the service number 46739 in the South Staffordshire Regiment, he was serving with the service number 42281 in the 6th battalion Leicestershire Regiment when he died of wounds at the 43rd Casualty clearing station, France, he is buried in Thilloy Road Cemetery.
